We all know how hard it is to find a Perfect White Tee, but summer brings with it an even more challenging search. Every year I have the same goal of finding the Perfect White Tank. This Perfect White Tank is laced throughout my Pinterest boards and Instagram saves. How effortless would getting dressed be if I knew I always had this as a winner in my back pocket?
Last year’s $20 spaghetti strap tank from Nordstrom broke (shocker) so I was forced to restart my hunt yet again1. This year, I’m not stopping until I strike gold. I am being so tacky and dramatic, please just indulge me.
I’m chronicling a few of these tanks in case you are on a similar search. I find it so helpful to see pieces un-styled on a regular person before purchasing. I’d heard buzz about all of these tanks beforehand, but here is my brutally honest $.02.
Scoop it Up Tank from Sold Out NYC ($85)
I’m wearing a size small here. I was most excited about this tank because I love the scooped out back, and wider straps. Unfortunately, it was a bit too thick for my preference. Although that is a sign of quality, I felt like it would get too hot, and it was a lot to tuck into jeans.
Crop Rib Tank from Amo ($79)
Wearing a small here. I just felt like the bottom was a bit loose for what I was looking for, but honestly this one is a good option if you want a slightly cropped, no fuss, loose tank.
Hillie Scoop Neck Tank from Flore Flore ($85 or $51 on MATCHES)
Wearing an XS here. Is this one really my favorite or was it just final sale from Matches? No comment! But I do honestly like this tank A LOT, and for the discounted price I would definitely recommend. It tucks in well without being too long, and hides bra straps. This is a Practically Perfect White Tank in my book. Maybe the only con here is that it isn’t 50% off all the time.
Pointelle Tank from Leset ($78)
Wearing an XS here. I’ve had the black version of this tank for a long time. It holds up great, and I love a basic with a little character. If you’re in the market for this one you might as well snag it for 50% off here (one size left, but they might restock!)
That concludes my PWT journey thus far. Maybe not the most riveting content I’ve written for ya, but it’s practical for this time of year! ;) Have a fabulous weekend- I hope it is tank top weather for you wherever you are!
Xx, elle
Just wanted to add a note that I realize the tanks in this newsletter are expensive for what they really are. I am certain you can find a Great Tank for far less. I just have bought so many cheap clothes only to throw them away over the years, I’m hoping to find a piece that can stick with me for longer this time, and that I can count on to hold up and always look great. Also when I invest a little more in something I take better care of it. SO DUMB, but it’s true! Why am I like that!
Moment of truth: I’m still loving my Mossimo tanks that I got for $10 a pop at Target 4 years ago… I can’t find a better fit
I actually loved seeing them all unstyled, so helpful!
