This Substack is a cry for help. I’m starting a new job in a couple of weeks where I will working in the office frequently and taking public transportation to get there. I need to be able to carry my life with me, without hurting my shoulder. I know some of you can relate, if not for other reasons. So please, tell me, what bags are you using???
I had the highest expectations for the Neuville Orion bag, but it was way too small, I’m sending it back today.
Another bag I have been considering is the Longchamp Le Pilage L Tote. Great blue, durable, fair price, but a bit basic I fear?
Popups Everyday Tote seems like it could be a cheaper, more unique alternative to the Le Pilage. There are so many color options!
The Cuyuna Classic Easy Zipper Tote looks fab. However, I have been searching for a second-hand version of this one, and they all look VERY beat up. I am concerned about the durability of this.
Massimo Dutti has such wonderful bags at great prices! Their Nappa leather tote is basic in the best way.
The Sprout Tote from Little Liffner is a dream bag, the price tag is the only problem.
I’ll round out this list with an even more expensive option, the Oversized Vittoria Tote from Reformation. I originally heard Liv Perez mention this bag on her podcast. It is of course beautiful.
Now for the fun of what goes in the work bag! Here is a little graphic of all my essentials (I had unreasonable amounts of fun making this)… my sharing this is giving ‘the workout routine you didn’t ask for.’
I have a Longchamp Pilage and really like mine! I had one in college and ended up buying another color last year. I personally love something I can zip up and it is really easy to put away, so I opted for that. I am also a Cuyana fan, but don't own any of their totes. Their other leather products have held up well for me.
I would also take a look at Freja NYC! They have about 4 different tote options and I love their designs.
maybe its a bit small but j.crew’s edie structured bag is beautiful! a dupe for the prada reedition 1995
